The course

The 2026 84 km Long Haul course of the Fernie Gravel Grind, a gravel loop from downtown Fernie, in the Canadian Rockies, to the edge of the Flathead Valley.

The 2026 Fernie Gravel Grind was raced on Saturday, July 4, with a group start in downtown Fernie, British Columbia. The Long Haul loop heads out on Coal Creek Road — the main climb, about 573 metres between km 10 and km 22, a true mountain pass leading toward the highest point of the course, at 1,843 metres. It drops down Morrissey Road, continues on Lodgepole Road and Wigwam Road to the edge of the Flathead Valley, then returns on River Road and Cokato Road to Fernie. This is the exact route plotted here — every turn at its precise intersection.

Why This Ride

The Fernie Gravel Grind is Rocky Mountain gravel: a mountain pass, endless forest roads and the Flathead Valley at the far end. Here, it's the Long Haul, the big 84 km loop. Your race, preserved in ink, one line at a time.

Make the Achievement Yours

How It Is Made

The composition, hierarchy and final linework are directed by a person. A pen plotter then draws the artwork physically, line by line, with ink on paper. Small production variations can occur during physical plotting.
