The course
The 88 km Esperto course of Forbidden Gravel, a gravel loop on the forest roads of the Comox Valley, below Mount Washington.
Forbidden Gravel, the BC Gravel Series finale, is raced in the Comox Valley, below Mount Washington on Vancouver Island. The Esperto loop heads out on Duncan Bay Mainline, then joins Piggott Main — the main climb, about 424 metres between km 22 and km 33, leads toward the highest point of the course, at 580 metres. It continues on Rossiter Main, returns to Duncan Bay Mainline, passes Black Creek Main, then takes Piggott Main and Rossiter Main again before dropping down Duncan Bay Mainline to the start. Elevation is the main theme: lots of climbing and super fast descents, about 1,230 metres of climbing in all. This is the exact route plotted here — every turn at its precise intersection.

Make the Achievement Yours
Add a name, finish time or short dedication to turn the artwork into a personal record of the work behind the medal. Personalization is optional; leave the field blank for the original composition.
How It Is Made
The composition, hierarchy and final linework are directed by a person. A pen plotter then draws the artwork physically, line by line, with ink on paper. Small production variations can occur during physical plotting.
