A technical plan of the Hitachi EX8000-7, drawn line by line in pen on 250gsm paper, at 11 x 17 in. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. On the back, a serial number and date, plotted in UV ink in the same pass as the drawing.
The EX8000-7's silhouette exists in file form everywhere. What doesn't exist everywhere is a single copy you can point to and say who drew it, where, on what day, under what number.
The Hitachi EX8000-7 is the largest excavator in Hitachi's EX-7 mining line, built to move rock at a scale few machines can match — a 43.0 m³ bucket and an 827-tonne operating weight, powered by twin 1,450 kW Cummins engines. Configurable as either a front shovel or a backhoe, it can reach 18.8 meters and dig 4.43 meters deep, moving material fast enough to keep a fleet of haul trucks running continuously in the pit.

Each piece is physically plotted by the studio's precision robot in Québec City, using Stabilo® Fineliners and Sakura® Gelly Roll inks on 250 gsm (120 lb) stock — stroke by stroke, never printed. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. The result is a tactile, hand-plotted finish — never printed.
