A technical plan of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, drawn line by line in pen on 250gsm paper, at 11 x 17 in. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. On the back, a serial number and date, plotted in UV ink in the same pass as the drawing.
The Blackbird's silhouette exists in file form everywhere. What doesn't exist everywhere is a single copy you can point to and say who drew it, where, on what day, under what number.
The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was designed to outrun any threat rather than out-maneuver it — cruising at Mach 3+ so high and fast that missiles couldn't reach it in time. Painted matte black to radiate away the extreme heat generated by air friction at those speeds, only 32 were ever built. First flown in December 1964 under Kelly Johnson's Skunk Works program, it still holds the record for the fastest air-breathing manned aircraft, decades after its retirement.

Each piece is physically plotted by the studio's precision robot in Québec City, using Stabilo® Fineliners and Sakura® Gelly Roll inks on 250 gsm (120 lb) stock — stroke by stroke, never printed. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. The result is a tactile, hand-plotted finish — never printed.
