A technical plan of the Sandvik MT721, drawn line by line in pen on 250gsm paper, at 11 x 17 in. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. On the back, a serial number and date, plotted in UV ink in the same pass as the drawing.
The MT721's silhouette exists in file form everywhere. What doesn't exist everywhere is a single copy you can point to and say who drew it, where, on what day, under what number.
The Sandvik MT721 is a crawler-mounted roadheader built to cut hard, abrasive rock — up to 140 MPa in regular use, and as high as 180 MPa in extreme conditions — without the vibration and fumes that come with drilling and blasting. Its transverse cutter head, powered by a 300 kW electric motor and built on Sandvik's Icutroc cutting technology, mounts on a robust telescopic boom for precise, continuous excavation. That makes it especially suited to tunneling in urban areas and the rehabilitation of existing underground infrastructure, where blasting simply isn't an option.

Each piece is physically plotted by the studio's precision robot in Québec City, using Stabilo® Fineliners and Sakura® Gelly Roll inks on 250 gsm (120 lb) stock — stroke by stroke, never printed. A physical tip presses into the paper and lays down real ink. The result is a tactile, hand-plotted finish — never printed.
